The undergraduate program in Elementary Education prepares teacher education candidates to teach children in pre-kindergarten school settings through fifth grade. There are two certification options available to those completing the B.S. Ed. degree in Elementary Education. The Traditional Program in Elementary Education option leads to general certification in Pre-K through 5th grade and the Dual Certification Program in Early Childhood Elementary Education and Special Education option leads to certification in PreK - 5th grade and certification in PreK - 5th grade Special Education General Curriculum in the state of Georgia. Admission to the Teacher Education program is required for enrollment in the block sequence of professional courses. A full year of field experiences in public schools occurs throughout the professional education courses.

a. A grade of C or better is required in courses in these sections. See catalog for English and Math requirements.
b. Recommend MATH 1111 to prepare for the GACE Program Admission (formerly Basic Skills) assessment.
c. Admission to Teacher Education is required before enrolling in block courses.
d. Practicum or Internship application must be submitted by posted deadline.
