Media, Ed.S., Concentrations in Instructional Technology, School Library Media


This program provides initial or advanced preparation for school library media specialists, and instructional designers, instructional technology coordinators, and teachers seeking to gain additional skills in instructional technology for integration into the P-12 classroom. The Ed.S. in Media program consists of two program concentrations: (1) School Library Media and (2) Instructional Technology.

 

The School Library Media concentration provides two options at the Ed.S. level:

Option (1) coursework resulting in initial certification in Media Specialist that continues directly to the advanced preparation program, requiring 27 hours plus an additional 12 hours for initial certification. Applicants must have a renewable professional certificate.

Option (2) advance preparation for school library media specialists for leadership roles, requiring 27 hours.  Admission requires a master’s degree in any field, at least a 3.0 GPA, and eligibility for S-5 certification in Media Specialist.

 

The Instructional Technology concentration provides two options at the Ed.S. level:

Option (1) coursework resulting in initial certification in Instructional Technology. Applicants must have a master’s degree in any field, at least a 3.0 GPA, and a renewable professional certificate.

Option (2) advance preparation in Instructional Technology.  Admission requires a master’s degree in any field, at least a 3.0 GPA, and eligibility for S-5 certification in Instructional Technology.
