The program in International Languages and Cultures prepares students to thrive in an increasingly multicultural and globally-connected world. We offer degrees and minors in French, German, Spanish as well as a Stand-Alone Certificate in Global Languages and Cultures. We also offer a BA in Teaching Certification in French and Spanish. Students who study languages and cultures become more engaged global citizens while developing valuable skills in intercultural communication and research.

FREN 2001 - Intermediate French I 3 Credit Hours

GRMN 1002 - Elementary German II 3 Credit Hours
GRMN 2001 - Intermediate German I 3 Credit Hours

SPAN 1001 - Elementary Spanish I 3 Credit Hours

French majors need to complete 13 semester hours of required French courses and 12 semester hours from 4 FREN courses at FREN 3000 and 4000 level. The required 13 semester hours include:

FREN 3100 - Composition and Conversation 3 Credit Hours (may be taken 3 times for credit with different content)
FREN 3211 - Topics in French Culture 3 Credit Hours
FREN 4000 - Advanced French Translation 3 Credit Hours

FREN 4310 - Francophone Civilization 3 Credit Hours (or)
FREN 4320 - French Civilization and Culture 3 Credit Hours

FORL 3000 - Global Languages and Cultures Colloquium 3 Credit Hours

Electives: 32 Hours

The International Languages and Cultures Program strongly recommends to its majors that 3 electives be courses at the 3000 or above level in their major language.
